I’m an applied game designer and UX specialist based in Dundee, Scotland. Through Cookie Studio, I craft interactive experiences, serious games, and clinical/educational mechanics where compassion and creativity meet. With multi-disciplinary experience in Product also. I help bridge the gap between game design and real-world research validating concepts through player research and playtesting to create measurable impact in user behaviour and understanding.
For me, game design is about more than just entertainment—it’s about creating spaces where users can reflect, develop, and grow. Through my work, I love exploring the intersection of applied scientific fundamentals of any topic (any experience usually not game centered) and core game design fundamentals to craft unique, experiences.
I have a deep passion for designing cozy, agentic, and creative games that feel like a safe creative experience for a player. I take inspiration from many other sources of media including games, music, literature, in my approaches to designing.
Good design isn't just about smooth interfaces—it’s about how an experience makes someone feel. I thrive on taking intricate concepts and design frameworks and translating them into warm, accessible, friction-free player journeys.
When I’m not testing game loops or diving into user research data, you’ll usually find me experimenting with interactive soundscapes, writing, or exploring cozy game mechanics.
Some of my projects explore; visual aesthetics, environmental storytelling, user interface, and ensuring that every aspect enhances immersion, engagement and enjoyment. And are cohesive in the experience they provide to the user as well as the objective/ business aims of the applied design.
This is my creative space, a collection of muses; client work, writing, video-game analysis, music, prototypes and miscellaneous projects all expanding from my personal design philosophy. Here, I experiment with cozy aesthetics, gamification, player motivational frameworks and empathetic narratives. These projects represent my dedication to pushing the boundaries of what games can accomplish in scientific, therapeutic, reflective, and inclusive spaces.
